GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak the Seeds: Bottle gourd seeds have a hard outer coating, so soaking them in warm water for 24 hours helps soften the shell, increasing germination success.
- Scarification (Optional): Lightly scratch the surface of each seed with sandpaper or a nail file. This can help water penetrate the seed more easily, which can speed up germination.
- Indoors: Use seed trays, small pots, or peat pots filled with a seed-starting mix. Plant the seeds about 1 inch deep.
- Outdoors: If the weather is consistently warm (above 70°F or 21°C), you can plant directly outdoors. Sow seeds in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing them about 1-2 feet apart.
- The squash has a maturity period of 80-90 days, starting to produce fruit.
- The green squash has a long, tapered body with an average fruit length of 50-90cm/fruit, the palm is white like cotton and has very few seeds
